Argon arc welder • Dutchess County, New York

Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon arc welder in Dutchess County, New York. You will be based at an automotive body and exhaust shop. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols Day to day you will read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish. 6+ years on the tools preferred.
