On a typical shift you will set out levels with line and plumb under the mason's direction; break out old walls and concrete with a jackhammer breaker; dig foundation trenches and pits with pick and shovel; clear debris and sweep the slab before the next pour; backfill and ram down soil around the foundations; bend and tie rebar with binding wire for slabs and columns. You should have: • Basic knowledge of hand tools like shovel, trowel and breaker • Know how to mix concrete and mortar to the right ratio • Physically fit and comfortable working at height 6+ years on the tools preferred.
