Vacancy available: meat trimmer (Kentucky)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a meat trimmer in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. You will be based at a busy retail butcher's shop. Day to day you will portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case; run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain. Requirements: • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler • Clean, presentable and friendly at the counter • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
