Vacancy available: we are hiring a tailor machinist in Hyde County, South Dakota. You will be based on a ready-made garment production line. Ideal candidate: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching On a typical shift you will clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension. 6+ years on the tools preferred. $2,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
