Requirements: • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection The role involves: • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run Full-time with occasional weekends.
