Garment machinist • Richland County, Illinois

Join our team: we are hiring a garment machinist in Richland County, Illinois. You will work in a sampling and tailoring workshop. Requirements: • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams Day-to-day duties: • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line Six days a week, one day off.
