Garment machinist wanted in Val Verde County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a garment machinist in Val Verde County, Texas. You should have: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory Day-to-day duties: • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. Part-time with flexible hours. Overtime paid at a premium rate. $3,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
