Furnace operator wanted in Cherokee County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a furnace operator in Cherokee County, Iowa. The role involves skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Full-time, day shift.
