Ideal candidate: • 2+ years on MIG/MAG (GMAW) welding • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently Your main tasks: • Tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing • Control distortion with a balanced welding sequence • Grind back and re-weld any defective runs • Lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness • Maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose Rotating shifts.
