Now hiring: we are hiring a brick mason in Lake County, Tennessee. You will work on a scaffolded high-rise site. You will checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod; setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge; erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation. Requirements: • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) 4+ years on the tools preferred.
