Your main tasks: • Spread imported fill in even layers ready for compaction • Follow GPS and laser grade control to hit design levels • Strip topsoil and stockpile it for later reuse • Work to the dig plan and the banksman's signals Ideal candidate: • Familiar with GPS and laser machine-control systems • Good understanding of cut-and-fill and batter slopes • Knowledge of daily greasing and pre-start inspections Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
