Now hiring: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Gujba, Yobe State. You will be based on an infrastructure project such as a metro or flyover. Day to day you will lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman; form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions; fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover; place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour. Ideal candidate: • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements 2+ years on the tools preferred.
