Now hiring: we are hiring a gtaw welder in Orange County, California. You will be based in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. Ideal candidate: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances You will read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions.
