Urgent requirement: we are hiring an argon welder in Benton County, Oregon. You will work in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Requirements: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage Day to day you will grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise. Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. We offer $2,700 per month plus benefits. Part-time with flexible hours. Apply today to start as soon as possible.
