Immediate opening: we are hiring a fabricator-welder in Washington County, Oregon. You will be based at a busy sheet-metal workshop. Day-to-day duties: • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints Requirements: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height 4+ years on the tools preferred.
