Now hiring: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Shelby County, Illinois. Ideal candidate: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Your main tasks: • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
