Machinist wanted in Renfrewshire

Immediate opening: we are hiring a machinist in Renfrewshire, Scotland. You will be based on a ready-made garment production line. Ideal candidate: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines Day to day you will set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching. Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough. Rotating shifts. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Walk-in interviews this week.
