Finish carpenter — City of Hampton

Now hiring: we are hiring a finish carpenter in City of Hampton, Virginia. On the job you will handle: • Cut mortise-and-tenon and dovetail joints with chisels and a mallet • Check work for level, plumb and square with a spirit level • Build and erect roof trusses, rafters and stud partitions • Fix studwork and plasterboard partitions • Finish surfaces with varnish, wax, lacquer or wood stain Ideal candidate: • NVQ Level 2/3 in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent • Accurate to fine tolerances on finish work • Confident with hand and power tools such as saws, routers and planers Six days a week, one day off. $3,100 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
