Now hiring: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. You will be based in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols You will sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing.
