Great opportunity: we are hiring a die-casting operator in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. The job is in a non-ferrous casting shop. Day-to-day duties: • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes Requirements: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Full-time, day shift.
