On a typical shift you will check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift; place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length. What we are looking for: • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
