Join our team: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Dallas County, Alabama. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Your main tasks: • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes You should have: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal At least 4 year(s) in a similar role.
