Immediate opening: we are hiring a moulder in Bridgend county borough, Wales. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Ideal candidate: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Basic grinding and fettling skills Day-to-day duties: • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
