Vacancy available: TIG welder (Kentucky)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a TIG welder in Daviess County, Kentucky. You will be based at an automotive body and exhaust shop. Day to day you will weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish. Ideal candidate: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • Able to pass a weld test on the spot Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
