Argon arc welder — Isle of Wight

Join our team: we are hiring an argon arc welder in Isle of Wight, England. You will work at an automotive body and exhaust shop. The role involves grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size. Requirements: • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection 6+ years on the tools preferred.
