Tailor machinist wanted in Benzie County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a tailor machinist in Benzie County, Michigan. The job is in a textile and apparel unit. You will stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes. Requirements: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance 4+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time with occasional weekends. Meals and transport allowance provided. Walk-in interviews this week.
