Safety officer — Poweshiek County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a safety officer in Poweshiek County, Iowa. On a typical shift you will enforce lockout-tagout (LOTO) on energised and rotating equipment; check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements; investigate near-misses and incidents and file root-cause reports; deliver site induction to new workers, subcontractors and visitors; record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date; carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift. Requirements: • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot • Physically fit for full-site inspections on foot • Sound knowledge of local OSH and factory act regulations Pay around $4,600 per month, based on your experience.
