Immediate opening: we are hiring a gas installation technician in Story County, Iowa. You will work at a boiler and appliance service centre. What we are looking for: • Physically fit for lifting pipe, meters and cylinders • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces • Able to read isometric and site drawings The role involves thread, ream and join black iron pipe with pipe wrenches and thread sealant; read isometric drawings and mark out the pipe routes; purge air from the lines and commission appliances to the correct gas rate; locate and repair gas leaks and replace corroded pipe sections; braze copper gas lines and weld carbon-steel pipe joints. $5,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
