Requirements: • Willing to work shifts, weekends and outdoors in all weather • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams Day-to-day duties: • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Read lift plans and method statements before starting • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads • Guide loads through tight openings into their final position • Establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
