Great opportunity: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Roberts County, South Dakota. You will be based at a busy fabrication workshop. Requirements: • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination Your main tasks: • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
