Furnace operator • Orleans County, New York

Vacancy available: we are hiring a furnace operator in Orleans County, New York. You will be based at an aluminium die-casting plant. The role involves carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture. You should have: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Basic grinding and fettling skills 6+ years on the tools preferred.
