Great opportunity: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in York County, Pennsylvania. You will be based in a food and dairy equipment factory. What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Own basic hand tools and PPE Your main tasks: • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode 1+ years on the tools preferred.
