Semi-automatic welder wanted in Menard County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a semi-automatic welder in Menard County, Illinois. You will work at a steel fabrication workshop. Requirements: • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium The role involves: • Grind back and re-weld any defective runs • Load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls • Maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness • Change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch • Bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding 3+ years on the tools preferred. $2,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
