Brick and block layer • Jefferson County, Kentucky

Vacancy available: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Jefferson County, Kentucky. Day to day you will raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish; buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses; checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser. You should have: • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) On-the-job training and a clear path to grow.
