We are recruiting: we are hiring a furnace operator in City and Borough of Salford, England. The job is in a non-ferrous casting shop. You will make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together. Requirements: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
