Join our team: metal caster (Louisiana)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a metal caster in Ascension Parish, Louisiana. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. You should have: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Basic grinding and fettling skills On the job you will handle: • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch $150 per day, negotiable for the right hands. Meals and transport allowance provided. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
