Requirements: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day The role involves: • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints 1+ years on the tools preferred.
