Occupational health and safety officer wanted in Hanson County

Immediate opening: we are hiring an occupational health and safety officer in Hanson County, South Dakota. You will be based on a road and infrastructure project. Day to day you will check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements; ensure MSDS/SDS sheets are on hand for every chemical on site; update the risk register and method statements (RAMS); audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges; verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates; investigate near-misses and incidents and file root-cause reports. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of local OSH and factory act regulations • Clear spoken delivery for toolbox talks and inductions 4+ years on the tools preferred. Six days a week, one day off.
