Great opportunity: foundry operative (New Jersey)

Join our team: we are hiring a foundry operative in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. The job is in the fettling and dressing shop. Day-to-day duties: • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes Ideal candidate: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
