Safety inspector • City of Charlottesville, Virginia

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a safety inspector in City of Charlottesville, Virginia. The role involves audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges; carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift; verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates; run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points; take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry; stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action. You should have: • Comfortable working at height and inside confined spaces • Clear spoken delivery for toolbox talks and inductions • NEBOSH, IOSH or a recognised OHS certificate Pay around $5,300 per month, based on your experience. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
