Formwork carpenter — City of Newport News

Now hiring: we are hiring a formwork carpenter in City of Newport News, Virginia. You will work in a bespoke joinery workshop. You should have: • Good eye for detail and a clean finish • At least 2 years' hands-on carpentry experience • Accurate to fine tolerances on finish work The role involves: • Plane and sand timber to a smooth, square finish • Install skirting boards, architraves and dado rails • Check work for level, plumb and square with a spirit level • Build and erect roof trusses, rafters and stud partitions • Finish surfaces with varnish, wax, lacquer or wood stain Overtime paid at a premium rate.
