Shakeout operator • Bradford County, Pennsylvania

Great opportunity: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Bradford County, Pennsylvania. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. Your main tasks: • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling 6+ years on the tools preferred.
