Banksman — Oneida County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a banksman in Oneida County, New York. You will be based in a heavy machinery workshop. Requirements: • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles On a typical shift you will check sling angles to stay within the working load limit; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area; fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads; attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear; secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists.
