Restoration bricklayer — Metropolitan Borough of Wirral

Join our team: we are hiring a restoration bricklayer in Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, England. The job is at a groundworks and structures site. Day-to-day duties: • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses You should have: • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
