Now hiring: we are hiring a groundworker in North Slope Borough, Alaska. You will work with a civil contractor. Ideal candidate: • Punctual and ready to do overtime when a pour demands it • Physically fit and comfortable working at height • Basic knowledge of hand tools like shovel, trowel and breaker You will mix concrete and mortar to the correct ratio, by hand or in a pan mixer; erect and dismantle scaffolding and pass materials up; backfill and ram down soil around the foundations; stack and store materials safely to avoid wastage; break out old walls and concrete with a jackhammer breaker; dig foundation trenches and pits with pick and shovel. 2+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time with occasional weekends. Performance bonus on top of base pay. $5,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Contact us to fix an interview.
