Great opportunity: we are hiring a halal butcher in North Slope Borough, Alaska. You will work in a supermarket meat department. On the job you will handle: • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking • Break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts • Keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled You should have: • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day • Quick and accurate on the weighing scales and order maths • 2+ years experience working as a butcher At least 1 year(s) in a similar role. Six days a week, one day off. Meals and transport allowance provided. Pay around $4,300 per month, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
