Gas metal arc welder — Hamilton County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a gas metal arc welder in Hamilton County, Iowa. On a typical shift you will strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc; check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration; lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints; set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator; set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness; maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose. What we are looking for: • ITI in welder trade or equivalent • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
