Immediate opening: we are hiring a reinforcement steel fixer in Kokona, Nasarawa State. The job is on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. Requirements: • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing Your main tasks: • Assemble column and beam cages on the bench • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat • Lap and splice bars to the specified lap length • Lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman • Form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
