Argon arc welder — City of Charlottesville

Great opportunity: we are hiring an argon arc welder in City of Charlottesville, Virginia. You will be based at an automotive body and exhaust shop. What we are looking for: • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard Your main tasks: • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
