Vacancy available: we are hiring a metal caster in Hardin County, Iowa. Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Day-to-day duties: • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects Rotating shifts.
